Early Life
Anand Kumar was born on 1 January 1973 in Patna, Bihar. He grew up in a modest family where financial resources were limited, but learning was always encouraged.
From an early age, he showed exceptional talent in mathematics. His passion for the subject earned him recognition, and he even received an opportunity to study at the prestigious University of Cambridge. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, he was unable to pursue his dream overseas.
Rather than giving up, Anand chose a different path-one that would eventually inspire an entire nation.
Turning Challenges into Purpose
After facing financial hardships, Anand Kumar began teaching mathematics to support his family. During this time, he noticed that many brilliant students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds had the talent to succeed but lacked access to quality coaching and guidance.
This realization became the foundation of his life’s mission.
Instead of focusing on personal success, he decided to help deserving students achieve what they thought was impossible.
The Birth of Super 30
In 2002, Anand Kumar launched Super 30, an educational initiative designed to prepare talented but financially disadvantaged students for the highly competitive IIT-JEE entrance examination.
Every year, 30 carefully selected students receive:
- Free coaching
- Free accommodation
- Nutritious meals
- Study materials
- Personal mentoring
The goal is simple: remove financial barriers so that talent can flourish.
Unlike many commercial coaching institutes, Super 30 focuses on ability, determination, and hard work rather than a family’s income.
