Tata Motors has officially launched the 2026 Tata Punch facelift in India, marking the first major mid‑cycle update of the popular micro‑SUV. The refreshed Punch brings a cleaner design, more tech‑packed features, new powertrain choices, and improved cabin comforts — all aimed at reinforcing its position in the highly competitive compact SUV segment.

Price & Variants

The facelifted Tata Punch carries a starting price of ₹5.59 lakh (ex‑showroom) for the base petrol variant in India. Pricing increases across higher trims and powertrains, including the turbo‑petrol and CNG options, making it competitively positioned across its segment.

The Punch is offered in several variants such as Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished, Accomplished+ S, with both petrol and CNG options depending on the trim.

Exterior – A Modern Take

The 2026 facelift introduces a sharper, more contemporary look inspired by Tata’s latest design language:

  • Redesigned front grille with new LED daytime running lights
  • Sleek projector headlamps and sportier bumper styling
  • Connected LED tail lamps and revised rear bumper
  • Updated alloy wheel designs and rugged cladding add to the SUV stance

Six vibrant colour options are available, including shades like Cyantafic Blue, Caramel Yellow, Bengal Rouge Red, Daytona Grey, Coorg Clouds Silver, and Pristine White.

Interior -Tech‑Heavy & Comfortable

Inside, the Punch facelift feels more premium and feature rich:

  • A larger 10.25‑inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Fully digital instrument cluster and dual‑tone cabin layout
  • Voice‑assisted electric sunroof and ambient lighting
  • Connectivity via Tata’s iRA system, wireless charging, and advanced convenience features

Comfort enhancements like electric climate control, rain‑sensing wipers, auto‑dimming IRVM, and a 360° parking camera system make the cabin more refined and effortless to live with.

Powertrain & Performance

The 2026 Punch lineup now offers three powertrain options:

  1. 1.2‑litre naturally aspirated petrol – efficient everyday motor
  2. 1.2‑litre turbo‑petrol engine producing roughly 120 PS and 170 Nm
  3. 1.2‑litre petrol + CNG – making it one of the few compact SUVs with CNG + AMT combo

Transmission options include manual, AMT, and a 6‑speed manual for turbo versions, catering to city and highway driving needs.

Safety – A Key Focus

Safety remains a standout strength for the Punch facelift:

  • Six airbags as standard
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC), TPMS, blind‑spot monitoring
  • 360° camera with reverse sensors
  • The Punch continues to hold a 5‑star Bharat NCAP safety rating

This focus on passive and active safety tech helps it remain one of the safest options in its class.
